Talent: Photography
Look-a-Like: Tom Welling
Subject: Photography and History
Personality:
Josh is probably the most cheerful and optimistic guy you've ever met. He's rarely seen without a smile, and if that's the case, run away as fast as you can because that means things are really bad and you don't want to witness it. He's anything but introverted and quiet - he loves talking to people, may they be long known friends or strangers on the street. He's a very loud guy as well, and very active.
One of his biggest problem is probably that he doesn't know when to stop. He believes in setting rules and following them, obviously since he's a teacher, but those rules are rarely very restrictive. He used to be a party guy, and still is though he has less time for it, but when he does, he's hard to miss. He's a real charmer and love talking to women, but he's not a bad guy - if he's single, he won't keep himself from talking and flirting with many girls, but once he gets into a relationship, he's very committed. Of course, his charmer personality has given him troubles before, like girlfriends thinking he was cheating on them because he was being nice to other girls, or guys wanting to beat him up cause the said girls were their girlfriends - not that they'd actually have managed to even touch him though, he's a pretty strong guy.
Josh is also very friendly toward his students. He often treats them as friends rather than students, though he still knows where to put the limits. He won't, for example, hang out with students outside classes, though he won't ignore them either and does enjoy having a small chat with them once in a while. He does want to give the friendly teacher guy image, the guy who's there to help and give advice when needed, but he manages to be like that without actually having them lack respect toward him.
Appearance:
When in a crowd, even though he doesn't particularly stand out, Josh is pretty hard to miss. 6'3" tall, medium built, tan skin and flashing smile, he very rarely goes out without getting checked out by a few people. He doesn't really mind, though he's not conceited either. He just likes looking good and taking care of himself - that's pretty much his girly side, though it doesn't really show out when you look at him ; he seems to be that way naturally, which he somewhat is.
Midlenght brown curls which you'd like to ran your fingers through, full lips you'd like to kiss and twinkling green eyes that make your knees go weak, there's no denying Josh is a really handsome guy. He kind of knows it but doesn't flaunt it. He's not the kind of guy who will go out shirtless just to show his abs (cause my does he has some...) or anything like that. He's a simple guy, and that's probably what makes him so attractive.
Josh doesn't follow fashion, and if he does sometimes wear something that is what everybody wants to get at the moment, it's not because he wants to fit in. He wears what he wants, may it be a 100$ t-shirt that you see in every magazine lately or a pair of shoes he bought in a charity shop for 5$. He mostly wear button up shirts and jeans with normal sneakers, but he does know how to dress up smart for events or dinners out.
History:
Josh was born in Atlanta and spent pretty much his whole life there with his parents and older sister. He was not always the guy he is now - cheerful and friendly. He used to be a bit shy, though not to the point where he didn't talk to people, but still not as extroverted as he is today. He changed to be that way when he turned fifteen and got into a car crash with Jodie (his sister). They both spent a few months in the hospital and Jodie's recovery was the longest and hardest as she was in a wheelchair for almost a year and still now has trouble walking properly. It made him realize that life is short and that it's not always easy to get a happy one, unless you take care of it yourself.
After the accident, he left home for a year, dropping out of his freshmen year to backpack around America, going all the way up to Alaska, across Canada, and down to Mexico. His parents were very worried at first but knew there was no stopping him when he set his mind on something, even though he was still very young. After the first two months, they started getting used to the idea, seeing how responsible he was with all of it, writing to them every week to tell them how things were going. They kept all the letters and gave them to him when he came back so that he could remember the whole experience properly. He keeps them all in a box, along with the pictures and souvenirs he has taken, and once in a while spends the evening looking at them.
When he came back from his trip, he had to go back to school, but he had another idea in mind as well. He had already heard about Jasper Johns Academy for the Arts before, but hadn't been all that much into the things they taught. However, after his trip, he had a new found passion ; photography. He knew that this subject was taught at JJA and he wanted to try it out. His parents weren't rich, but still had some money of their own, at least enough to get him through one or two years. He joined the school and worked as hard as he could, and when his sophomore year was done and his parents couldn't afford it anymore, he earned himself a scholarship to finish the last two years he had left.
Having loved his experience at JJA so much, he didn't want to leave the place, even after his Senior year. He spent two years studying History in an University, only to get him more options for later on in his life, but soon realized that photography was his real passion. He looked around for a job opening for about a year, not being really successful, until, out of complete luck, he went to JJA to visit his old teachers like he did sometimes only to find out his photography teacher was about to retire and they needed someone to replace him. He applied for the job instantly and got it. He's been teaching there since then, and the year after he also got the position for History teacher since he had studied for it and they needed one. He has had his troubles once with a younger student who accused him of harrassment only because he had rejected her propositions, but it was found out that he had done nothing wrong and was able to keep his job while the girl got kicked out of the school. That's why now he's making sure that, even though he keeps his friendly attitude toward his students, they know that he's not exactly their best friend and make them keep their respect toward him.

From a HP marauders site..
Marlene sighed softly as she walked out of the castle, heading directly for the lake. It was dinner time already but she wasn’t hungry at all. Actually she rarely was lately. Most of the time she ate a little, but not very much, only to make sure she wouldn’t faint or whatever because her body was lacking something, but most of the time she had trouble even taking a bite of anything.
She looked up to the sky and frowned lightly as she remembered one of the questions Remus had asked her the day before during their Potions class. What she wanted to do when she’d be out of Hogwarts… she knew what she wanted to do. She wanted to leave home, she wanted to be free, she wanted to be as far as possible from her father and his family. She wished she could do an Auror training, work at the Ministry of Magic, help people, do something worthy. But she knew she couldn’t and it was so much worse of not being able to do it only because she was forbidden to do it, and not because she didn’t have the capacities or grades for it. She wasn’t a genius, but she was still smart. Most of her professors liked her and she always did her best on her assignments and homework, as well as on her exams. She had even been a Ravenclaw prefect during her sixth year. Her mother had been so proud when she had seen her badge… not her father though. To him, anything related with the house of Ravenclaw, let alone the fact that his daughter was in it, was a disappointment, not something worth of his attention. With a shudder, she remembered her first morning at Hogwarts. A big, black, threatening owl sharply knocking on the window of her dormitory, a scarlet piece of paper held in his beak. Marlene had frozen of horror as soon as she had seen it and let the owl in, taking the envelope between her trembling fingers, glad that her dorm mates were already down for breakfast, though she was quite sure everybody in the tower had heard the voice of her father reasoning with anger, telling her how furious he was that his own daughter had been sorted in Ravenclaw instead of Slytherin before adding that it wasn’t such a surprise after all since her blood was mixed with her mother’s.
She sighed again and shook her head softly to chase the thoughts away. She definitely wasn’t outside to think about her father. She’d be quite pleased with forgetting about him for quite a while, as long as possible. At least until her mother’s next letter came to her… she always told her, now that she knew about her father’s treatment to her mother, everything he did to her. Maybe it was because she didn’t want Marlene to be shocked when she’d come home and see her mother so weak and pale. Maybe it was just because she needed to tell someone about how she was living, maybe it was the fact that sharing it with someone else was helping her to hold on to life. Or maybe it was to scare her daughter away… Marlene couldn’t even count anymore the number of times her mother had told her maybe it’d be good for her to get away for a while, to go somewhere else, to see other countries, to leave home… but as much as she wanted to, she couldn’t. She couldn’t leave her mother and sister alone…
As her mind started wandering in places she usually tried to avoid, she kept on walking. But she was so lost in her thoughts that she didn’t see where she was going and, of course, she ended up tripping on a dead root on the ground, falling flat on her face with a light shriek of surprise.
